Xiaomi had launched it two smartphones named the Xiaomi Redmi 5 and the Redmi 5 Plus in December 2017. While launching the company has announced that the Xiaomi Redmi 5 will be available in four colour option, i.e., Black, Blue, Rose Gold, and Gold. Last week it went on sale, and it is available with three other colour variant except for the Black colour. However, Xiaomi has officially announced about the availability of the Xiaomi Redmi 5 in black colour option. As per the report, the new colour variant will be available for purchase from 25th December. Maybe it is the way of celebrating Christmas for Xiaomi.
The new colour variant will carry the same features, and specifications like the regular Redmi 5 has. It has a 5.7-inch HD+ display, and it gives 720 x 1440 pixels of resolution. It offers the standard aspect ration, i.e., 18:9. Under the hood, it carries a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC. With Octa-Core processor it gives 1.8GHz of clock speed. It also has an Adreno 506 GPU. The device comes with two different RAM and ROM configuration. In one configuration it comes with a 2GB of RAM and offers 16GB of ROM, and in another configuration, it offers a 3GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage capacity.
Coming to its camera configurations, the device carries a 12MP camera on the rear side, and it offers f/2.2 aperture. The rear camera is supported by an LED flash. It supports PDAF, facial recognition, HDR, Panorama, and Burst mode. On the front side, the device has a 5MP camera, and it comes with Smart Beauty 5.0.
Backed by a 3,300mAh battery, the device runs on Android Nougat and MIUI 9. The 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM variant is priced at 799 Yuan which is around $122. On the other hand, the 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM variant is priced at 899 Yuan which is approximately $137.
