Getting there late is one thing, crawling there barely is what we should call it. The Big Red (Verizon) has finally updated it’s phablet Galaxy Note 4 from 2014 with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. What’s funny, is that the international variants of the device are enjoying this update since fall 2015 and when it’s time to treat the customers with Marshmallow Verizon couldn’t have care less. It’s not that we haven’t seen late software updates in the past for carrier bound models but this was a little too late.
However it’s a better late than never scenario, considering that Marshmallow 6.0 update is going to arrive even later and for the time being Android 5.1.1 will take care of bugs just fine. The update is rolling via OTA and hence it might take different times to reach a particular user, while you can also manually check for the new software’s availability by using the dedicated menu inside Settings. The new build number is LMY47X.N910VVRU2BOK3 and there are quite a few under the hood improvements included here, with a few cosmetic ones too.
