The latest update of the Instant Messenger WhatsApp for the Apple iPhones now comes with two new features- the Picture in Picture mode (PiP) and an enhanced voice recording button. In the new Picture in Picture mode, the iPhone users can now watch YouTube videos directly within WhatsApp while in the enhanced voice recording button, the user no longer requires to hold on the mic icon to record the audio.

The new WhatsApp version 2.17.81 can be downloaded by the iPhone users via the App Store. The voice recording feature works as intended with the download of the new update but the new PiP mode is not working. The YouTube link in the chat still takes you to the YouTube app to play the video. This change was spotted first by WABetaInfo, an online technology portal, where the YouTube videos playback feature within WhatsApp is not yet enabled form the server.
Note that the YouTube feature in WhatsApp is currently disabled, also if the changelog reports it. Probably they missed to enable it.
I will inform you when WhatsApp will enable it from the server, probably tonight.— WABetaInfo (@WABetaInfo) November 28, 2017
The portal further said that the update is capable of running the PiP mode and will be functional only when WhatsApp enables the switch from the server end. There is no information yet on when the Google Android devices will receive the new features. But going by the previous updates, these two new features might be available on the Android devices soon.
Talking about the other WhatsApp updates for Android devices, the instant messenger now works on a new feature that enables the users to switch between a voice call and video call without having to end the call in progress.
