Earlier this week we got our hands on a leaked document from Sony India that revealed the company’s plans for the Android 4.4 KitKat and Android 4.3 JellyBean for a number of Smartphones, now the Official Sony Blog has confirmed the same news but the Xperia SP has been left out again. In post from yesterday Sony confirmed the update to Android 4.4.2 KitKat for the Xperia Z, Xperia Zl and Xperia ZR is available now in select markets but there was “still no word” on the the much awaited KitKat update for the Xperia SP and users are once more left in the dark with no place to get the answers at.

The pattern that Sony is following for the Xperia SP Android 4.4.2 KitKat update is very similar to what Samsung did to the users of their top of line seller device, the Galaxy SIII (GT-I9300) and hence the hopes are falling apart with each day. Users have been complaining about the Issues and Bugs that the Android 4.3 update brought to the Xperia SP and are waiting for the KitKat update to resolve them once and for all.
The Android 4.4.2 update for the Xperia T2 Ultra, Xperia M2 and Xperia E1 is said to arrive in July and it seems that Xperia SP will have it’s fate decided before that happens. It is surely capable of running KitKat and it also has about 6 Months of Software Update Support left on its term but that doesn’t mean Sony will act fair on their part.
