Google’s Android owns a nearly 75% market share in the global smartphone market, this is no surprise as there are a variety of manufacturers relying on android platform. The traditional one are Samsung, LG, Sony & HTC. Lenovo & Panasonic have also started it and they do have some good ones too but what we are here to discuss today is the manufacturers who are selling cheap android phones especially in Asian markets. They claim to offer all high end features with just one-third prices so there must be trick they use.
Unresponsive & filthy touchscreens : This is one of the most annoying fact of these cheap smartphones. The touch screen feels unresponsive, there is still a pressure factor that drives it. You have to apply pressure for it to work and that does not define a good touchscreen. The other fact is there may be an issue related to pixels, No I am not talking about a lower pixel resolution but something as dead pixel. You will find areas of you screen dying from time to time because they have not been properly designed to avoid manufacturing cost.
RAM & Second-Grade chip-sets : Most of the manufactures that make these cheap android phones use a second-grade chip-sets that may be known as quad-cores but trust me when I say that they are slower then Qualcom’s Single Core one’s too. They are lagging and making the phone hot. We all know android is a resource hungry platform so why to call it laggy when you don’t have enough resources to run it. Take a Nexus 4 and show me lag, I’ll be pleased. The Other thing is low RAM amounts and DDR1 stage RAM’s that are outdated, causing memory clogs and making the phones freeze often.
Pathetic Camera Sensors : The camera is one of the most disappointing factor when it comes to cheap android phones. I wont even bother the limitations it has but just say that the pics a 5MP unit in these phone takes is so pathetic that u might get a 1.3 MP from a brand like SONY and still get a better shot. The colors, temperature & even sharpness all are just filthy with those camera’s.
Poor Battery Performance : Even with large battery capacities in these phones they wont last 10 hours on 3G. This is because the hardware is slow power eating waste of space. There is a great power consumption for every slow action it handles and then the display’s are no good either. There pixels just eat up the battery and all you get is slow phone with a charger in your hand every few hours later.
No Software Update : The manufactures of such phones are only concerned with making these phones and not at all about the software it utilizes. There are mostly no customer support so the OTA (over the Air) update is out of question itself. You buy a cheap smartphone with android 4.0.4 and that’s all you get even when Google releases android 4.4.
