Being an owner of Samsung’s galaxy S or Note line flagship has it perks, but lately Android updates hasn’t been one of them. After a long wait for Samsung to push the final version of KitKat 4.4.4 there is finally a good part about it not happening at all, good because this has opened the doorway to a direct Android 5.0 Lollipop update according to some of our sources. In a recent discussion we found out that Samsung is planning to skip the Android 4.4.4 KitKat for Galaxy S5, Note 3 and S4 (International Variants) and push a early update to Android 5.0 Lollipop, according to them this could result in an 45-60 days early release from what it was expected to be initially. The Galaxy S5 Mini will also be treated with Android 5.0 Lollipop in the near future, but that’s not in the picture at the moment.
We should not forget that this move might be totally inspired by Motorola and LG taking the crown to provide Lollipop 5.0 to it’s flagship smartphones, but as long as Samsung delivers, color us delighted. The Android 4.4.4 KitKat update for the non-flagship devices like Samsung Galaxy Grand 2, Note 3 Neo and S4 Mini is still expected to be released in coming weeks. Out the three mentioned devices the Galaxy Note 3 Neo was the only one to show up in the test update roadmap for Android 5.0 Lollipop that we got our hands on last week, so you might wanna consider the fact that Android 4.4.4 KitKat will be the last update if you own a Galaxy Grand 2 or S4 Mini.
Thanks Rick !
