Samsung has officially launched their 2014 Galaxy S line flagship device, the Galaxy S5 in India today. Samsung’s media event in New Delhi didn’t reveal the actual price of the Smartphone but it is estimated to be in the INR 51,000 ~ 53,000 range, also some major dealers have indicated the price to be INR 51,500. The Galaxy S5 variant isn’t running on a Snapdragon 801 processor which might make some people unhappy, there is a new Samsung Exynos 5 Octa processor with four 1.9GHz Cortex A15 cores and four 1.3GHz Cortex A7 cores which is a true octa core chip with HMP. The HMP technology in the new Exynos Octa Chipset enables the processor to use all eight cores at one time if needed, so you get the true Octa-Core experience this time, also you get the 4K video recording.
The colors available are Black, White, Blue and Gold. Samsung has no plans to launch the 32GB version in the Indian Market so 16GB is the max you will get (Still a Micro SD Card might fulfill the needs). If you wish to get yourselves a fancy Smart-watch too, then the Gear 2 is priced at INR 21,900 ($364) whereas the Gear Neo and Gear Fit are priced at INR 15,900 ($264). The phone and the smart-watches will be available for purchase starting April 11 and pre-bookings will go live on March 29th.
