Samsung finally came through with an Android 4.3 update for Galaxy S3 (GT-I9300) and it seems they might have made the situation worse. As we all know and believe that a software update comes with improved performance and added features, in the case of Galaxy S3 we might only have one of those present and it surely isnāt āImprove Performanceā. I myself am an owner of a Samsung Galaxy S3 (GT-I9300) and after updating my device I am more than certain that the issues with the update are not limited to my device. Our folks atĀ SammobileĀ also confirms that they have been contacted by many users with the following issues after updating their Galaxy S3ās to the latest firmware based on Android 4.3 Touchwiz skinned.
- 1. Reduced battery life.
- 2. App crashes.
- 3. Inconsistent Wi-Fi connection.
- 4. Laggy performance.
- 5. Complete lockups at lock Screen.
- 6. Freezing of Device.
- 7. Camera Failure.
- 8. Over Heating of Device.
I have noticed some of the few myself though some were not present at all in my case. There is also a āRumorā that the update has been put out on hold as.
Phones ReviewĀ report that the update was initially available on their UK handset, but after ignoring it and attempting to update the next day, their S3 simply said the latest updates were installed
Well we are not sure if Samsung will issue a new update soon or a software patch to solve these issues soon nor we know that is the update paused for now at all locations. All I am going to suggest is to keep it āOn Holdā for now as you may end up facing issues and the path to go back to the previous STOCK ROM will require a deeper knowledge that not all may be capable of. Also it might be a good thing for all those USA carrier variants of Galaxy S3 as they have not yet received this BUGGY UPDATE.
If you are already a victim of this unstable update and you need to go back to the last STOCK ROM then go to theĀ FIRMWARE Section at SammobileĀ and download the desired update for your model > Then flash it using ODIN (Do backup your data as a full format is inevitable).
