It is a big day for all the Samsung Galaxy Note II owners that have a Verizon variant (SCH-I605), as the official update to Android 4.3 is now live via OTA (Over the Air) and Verizon’s desktop software Upgrade Assistant. The Galaxy S III for Verizon was also updated just yesterday and now the Note II was provided with the same. The update brings many new features to the Galaxy Note II but the major focus still remains on the support for the Galaxy Gear Smart-watch from Samsung. Verizon surely is very late to the party for Android 4.3 but as long as they managed to provide it before the end of 2013 it must be taken as an achievement. The build number for the update is VRUEMJ9 if you are looking to go into details.
The other features worth talking about include Samsung KNOX, Samsung Wallet, Faster UI + Better RAM Management, new additions in the notification center and improved camera firmware with a new camera mode (Sound and Shot). The New Touchwiz Launcher from the Note 3 and the Action Memo are still missing so don’t get too excited just yet. The update will take a while to reach all the users so sit tight and check your software update section regularly.
To Update your Verizon Galaxy Note II (SCH-I605) to Android 4.3 via OTA you must go to Settings > About Device > Software update > Update. If you wish to update your device via Upgrade Assistant and your not sure how to do it then follow Verizon’s Guide.
