While Motorola, HTC & Sony have already given their word on the Android 4.4 update for their smartphones Samsung focused on releasing details about its next year flagships (64-bit processors, 1440p displays and 16MP ISOCELL camera). There was a recent hint from Sammobile & Gottabemobile that the android 4.3 update has gone into testing phase from Samsung but is that really the case ? Well at this moment it will be a positive guess from anybody as Galaxy Note 3 came with android 4.3 out of the box so android 4.4 is the very next on the road ahead, also the Galaxy S4 has been updated to android 4.3 and is still on the tracks so Android 4.4 might be in testing phase for sure.
Now the fact is the Samsung takes a pretty long time to test the software (Galaxy S3 & Note 2 Still on android 4.1.2) as their “Feature Rich” Touchwiz UI has to be compatible with the Android OS. Samsung also mentioned an early early release for the Galaxy S5 (January 2014) so it will not be wrong to believe that it will be Samsung’s first device to run android 4.4 (Except from Galaxy S4 Google play edition). This makes the update schedule a bit tangled if you ask me as I am sure that Samsung will provide android 4.4 after Galaxy S5 is launched pushing it all around 3 months from now (HTC also made a 90 days promise to deliver android 4.4 kitkat to the HTC One). Additionally the two very famous Galaxy S3 and Note 2 may also get a taste of this update as they are capable enough and also wide spread due to their blasting sale figures from last year.
Now the question is that being a Samsung user can you stand to wait as long as 3 months to get updated to android 4.4 ? I’d say don’t hate them for taking time if they are cooking delicious :) Let us know in the comment section below.
