It has been months since the initial leak about the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 showed up, giving users a hope of finally looking forward to a new experience on the Budget king in the Indian Subcontinent. However today, in a new piece of information it has been confirmed that Samsung will not proving the Galaxy Grand 2 with Android 5.0 update, not anytime soon or not ever for that matter.
One of the executives at Samsung India R&D department has confirmed that the development of Android 5.0 Lollipop for the Mid-Range Galaxy devices has been put on Hold, in order to deliver the long due updates for the much more expensive devices like the Galaxy S4, Note 3, Galaxy S5 and Note 4. This isn’t the first time Samsung is abandoning it’s users from latest android taste, but it surely is a consequence of producing large number of handsets each year. The support for such a large inventory isn’t something Samsung could manage, specially considering that many of the Jellybean 4.3 and Kitkat 4.4 releases came with a handful of Bugs.
Other devices that are expected to take a hit from this new direction that Samsung will be taking are – Grand Prime and Galaxy Mega 2. The users of the Note 3 Neo can relax as they are surely getting the Lollipop update once Samsung is done with the flagships.
Let’s hope Samsung changes it’s decision and delivers a Lollipop update to these mid-rangers eventually.
