As we welcome 2014, we hope to see many new Smartphones and Tablets from different manufacturers, but like always Samsung manages to steal the spotlight with the next Galaxy S in line the Samsung Galaxy S5. The Galaxy S5 is surely one of the most awaited smartphone for the year 2014 and thus Samsung might have some extra-ordinary plans for it. Samsung had made an announcement regarding a new premium line of Smartphones in 2014 that will take the Galaxy F line, the major attraction to this Galaxy F line was the metal construction that all present flagships from Samsung (Galaxy S1,2,3 & 4 also the Note 1,2 & 3) were missing. The Galaxy F line being the “Premium” line of Smartphones was also assured to carry specs equivalent to the the corresponding Galaxy S flagship (The Galaxy S5 for that matter), now this was good news for all those who weren’t a fan of Samsung’s poly-carbonate (type of plastic) construction measures for the flagship devices as it would result in a non-premium look for a Smartphone/Phablet worth $600+ (40,000 INR).
Today a new report from Korean publication ETNews suggests that Samsung will be launching the Galaxy F around the same time as the Galaxy S5. The metallic prototype of the Galaxy F was developed in Europe and then moved to Samsung’s production plant in Vietnam according to the reports from ETNews, now this strongly shoots down the hope for Galaxy S5 to be a metal build as the metal frames that were leaked are fitting the image of the Galaxy F quite nicely. Additionally the reports suggests that the Galaxy F line will be launched after the Galaxy S5 comes in to market and will be the Premium version of the Galaxy S5, which I personally find a bit “Over-Played”. The Galaxy S line has been not only Samsung’s but one of the most sold smartphone line in history and there is no way Samsung will have a high end Galaxy F line above the Galaxy S5’s product name, and hence if the Galaxy F is launched closer or along the Galaxy S5 then it surely will be the metal build equivalent of the Galaxy S5 and nothing more.
What do you think Samsung is planning for the the Galaxy S5 ? Is the Galaxy F your cup of tea ? Feel free to share your views in the comments section below.
