All the people who own a Samsung galaxy device have complained with the lag in opening Dialer, Contacts & Messages applications on the device. Well sadly this is really the case, even a device like Galaxy SIII, S4 & Note 2 has this problem. This is not a software bug though and hence Samsung hasn’t released any update to fix it either. Samsung galaxy devices comes Touchwiz skinned which is a host of a lot of great and smart features making it heavy also.
Well that’s something you get when you demand for something extra !! Samsung uses a memory management technique in order to maintain harmony between the android OS and their Touchwiz features, this done by making the propriety applications like the Dialer & Contacts consume no background memory. This means when you close them they will only stay in the memory if there is a sufficient amount available or else they will automatically be removed and start all over again, this causes the lag that people complain about. As an android user we must understand that android works this way, once the Process/Application is in the memory it will launch as soon as possible but when there is a requirement for memory for some other task the android auto kill will remove them hence they will start over taking a greater amount of time. Samsung’s Touchwiz being a feature heavy skin has this more often as they have a lot of processes running at a time and this is why there is a constant swap f processes in the memory. We don’t experience this on other devices mainly with stock android as the number of processes are much lower because many features are also not present. So to make a long story short a Samsung device will show this lag time to time and if you really love the features they provide then you can bear with it, if not then buy a stock device or even the new Sony ones that have a near to stock User Interface and still are better than stock android OS.
So are you OK with this lag or you just hate it ? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
