Oppo’s Reno line has been a standout for its chic designs, power, and superior camera features. The latest offering in the Reno series, the Reno 10 Pro+, continues this legacy. With its remarkable capabilities, does it fill the void in the sub-Rs 60,000 price range?
At first glance, most phones in this range look quite similar – the real difference lies in their rear design and camera placement. And that’s what makes the Reno 10 Pro+ remarkable: it has an awe-inspiring and distinctive design with an oval-shaped camera module at the back. An absolutely stunning touch is its dual finish paint job – especially in our review unit’s charming purple hue – which drew many eyes. However, its soft finish can make it rather slippery to the touch.
The Oppo Reno 10 Pro+ packs a lot of features into its 6.74 inch display but remains comfortable to handle, thanks to its curved edges. On the right side you’ll find the power button and volume controls, while an infrared sensor is located on the top. At the bottom you’ll find the SIM slot and charging port, with an in-display fingerprint sensor providing a quick unlocking experience. Unfortunately, there is no IP certification for water resistance here.
The 6.74 inch curved-edge display packs rich colours, brightness and fast responsiveness. With dynamic refresh rates up to 120Hz, you’re sure to experience smooth scrolling through web pages, social media apps and streaming content without any stutters or lag. It’s also surprisingly readable in bright sunlight – making it perfect for outdoor activities. So whether you’re gaming or catching up on movies and shows, the Oppo Reno 10 Pro+ will give you an immersive viewing experience that you won’t forget.
The bezel-less beauty of this device provides full frontal eye candy for streaming and gaming bliss. But its backside has a hidden surprise too – Corning Gorilla Glass 5 – making it both a vision and a fortress.
ColorOS smoothly powers the phone, with a user interface that caters to an organized soul. Of course, there are those who like having their apps at arm’s reach, but if you want to spare yourself the clutter, you can skip the pre-installation of extra apps and start clean. On my device, however, it came already loaded with extras like FinShell Pay, Daily Hunt, Hot FreeGames, Hot Games, Josh, Moj, Snapchat and Sharechat. Although some of them couldn’t be uninstalled, there was still room to give my device a streamlined look.
The Reno 10 Pro+ is a flagship device that’s equipped with last year’s powerhouse processor, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, and it definitely packs quite a punch. To put its performance to test, we edited large videos captured on this device and multitasking was a breeze, with no signs of slowdown whatsoever. Gaming on this device was smooth and the only issue we encountered was it heating up after around 20 minutes. With 12GB RAM and 256GB of storage available out-of-the-box, however there is were 28GB of the storage already allocated for the system and default apps.
The Reno 10 Pro+ also impresses with its triple camera setup; it constitutes of a 50MP primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and 64MP telephoto lens. All lenses performed exceptionally well; the primary lens produced exquisite details, true-to-life color reproduction that impressed in any lighting conditions, whereas the telephoto lens provided portrait shots with accurately identified objects without smudging the edges. It also included 3x optical zoom and 120x digital zoom, and while the 30x digital zoom worked pretty well, beyond that point pictures got pixelated. The telephoto lens images were slightly oversaturated when compared to the primary lens.
