Well it seems like LG has taken a huge leap in the update race for Android manufacturers, as LG G2 (companies flagship device 2013) has started receiving an update to Android 4.4 KitKat starting today from its home country Korea. The update is available through LG’s very own Update Tool, while the update via OTA (over the Air) isn’t provided yet. The LG G2 was launched on Android 4.2.2 and the update to Android 4.3 (That wasn’t provided yet) will be hopefully skipped now.
While this being said the other country next in line for the Android 4.4 KitKat update for the LG G2 may be France. The French carrier SFR hinted earlier this month that the LG G2 on SFR will be updated to Android 4.4 KitKat in November or December but there was no word of confirmation on this, but now with the update finally starting to roll out and November coming to an end the SFR LG G2 might have a strong chance here. While a sad news arrive from MobileSyrup for all our folks in the “Great White North” Canada where the update might take a bit too long and shall be made available by March 2014 (Blame the carriers for sure if you wan’t but they need to optimize the update for the best interests of their customers).
