Latest android updates have always been a big concern with LG devices, even their top dogs like the G2 have to wait pretty long to get the updates after Google launches them, but it seems like LG has a plan to trump it all as Phonearena has gotten some inside info suggesting that LG plans to update many of its devices directly to Android 4.4, hence skipping the 4.4 and 4.3 updates. Well the news is an absolute delight if you are LG smartphone owner but the approach is limited to “only some” devices so don’t be too exited just yet, the Optimus G Pro and G2 are the already confirmed ones, Others included are listed below.
Devices to get Android 4.4 KitKat
- LG Optimus F3
- LG Optimus F6
- LG G Pad 8.3 (Verizon Model Also)
- LG G Pro Lite
- LG Optimus F7
- LG-D315 (Unannounced)
- LG LS740 (Rumored to be the successor to the LG Optimus F3)
- LG Optimus L9 II
- LG Optimus Vu II
- LG Vu III
- LG G Flex.
Sadly if your device isn’t in the list then you might be stuck at the Android version you currently are on, additionally there is a confirmation for the LG Optimus 4X HD to end its update cycle at Android 4.1.2 while the LG Optimus G is still in hanging in the middle. To be honest here LG’s effort to update several devices to Android 4.4 is pretty great, but at the same time it isn’t really fare to leave devices like the Optimus 4X HD and Optimus G out of it, Samsung Galaxy S III has been in the game nearly as long as the Optimus 4X HD and Samsung surely plans to give it a taste of Kitkat, no matter what “update cycle” it is falls in, I guess “Better late than never” is worth it after all.
