Huawei got everyone talking today, launching their new Mate 60 Pro smartphone without any advance warning. The device made its debut on Vmall, the company’s online store in China, listed for pre-order by customers wanting to secure their handset.
One of the standout features of the Mate 60 Pro is its trio of punch holes, which hold the selfie camera and 3D ToF sensor.
In addition to this, several updates have been made to the phone compared to its predecessor. It now has a 6.82” 10-bit LTPO OLED screen with a 2720 x 1260 pixel resolution and an impressive 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate. The device also boasts a second-generation Kunlun Glass panel.
Huawei has unveiled its latest phone, the Mate 60 Pro, which plays host to the same top-notch selfie set-up found on the company’s Mate 40 Pro and Mate 50 Pro. It has a 13 MP ultrawide camera alongside face mapping sensors and lasers for Huawei’s signature Face ID feature.
On the rear of the device, we find three more cameras. These consist of a 50 MP main unit featuring OIS and PDAF, an ultrawide 12 MP sensor with f/2.2 lens, and a 48 MP f/3.0 telephoto lens with OIS and AF.
The Mate 60 Pro also supports satellite messaging in China, whilst its 5,000 mAh battery can be charged either with 56W wired and 50W wireless options or even 20W reverse wireless charging.
In terms of software, the Mate 60 Pro is the first Huawei device to come pre-loaded with HarmonyOS 4.0. Despite this new launch however, the company has yet to confirm the chipset to power the device.
Huawei has unveiled the awesome Mate 60 Pro smartphone with a stunning dual-tone design and four eye-catching color options. With its top part made of glass for White and Green, and faux leather for purple and black, Chinese-inspired names were given to each one; fitting homage to the nation’s majestic landmarks.
The powerful Mate 60 Pro packs twelve gigabytes of RAM and three choices for internal storage – 256 gigabyte, 512 gigabyte, and humongous one TB option. According to the company website, only the average 512 gigabyte model is offered for the price of CNY6,999 (around US$960 or €900).
