It’s not the first time for a manufacturer to abandon its flagship device for the previous, when the latest Android versions come up. HTC seems to have done the very same with all the HTC One X+ and One X owners as their Netherlands division confirmed this via Twitter. The official verdict from HTC’s Headquarter hasn’t arrived yet but an HTC representative has responded to a question over Twitter concerning the KitKat update for One X+
“We can confirm the HTC One X+ will remain on the current software version, Android 4.2.2 and Sense 5.”
Now the confirmation for the HTC One X+ definitely eliminates the possibility of the HTC One X to get an update to Android 4.4 Kitkat too. Also a few days ago it was reported that According to Mo Versi, HTC’s Executive Director of Product Management, “the updates are in the lab and the company is progressing towards an eventual release” which was regarding the Android 4.3 Update for the One X+ and One X so it may be possible that carrier variants in USA might get Android 4.3 at least if not 4.4 Kitkat.
Whatever the case may be HTC will surely loose some loyal customers if they go forward with this, and looking the position the company is in it actually might. Stay tuned for updates and feel free to drop your comments below.
