Android 4.4 KitKat is finally rolling out for the Google Play Editions of HTC One and Galaxy S4. The update has been available for around more than 24 hours with HTC One starting on it and Galaxy S4 catching up after it. The OTA update for HTC One is round 305MB via OTA while the one for Galaxy S4 hasn’t received an exact size from relevant sources yet. The update will roll out in phases to it may take different time period to reach one user compared to another.
The update brings all the features from the Android 4.4 KitKat but what you might not see included is the Nexus 5 launcher with Google Now integration on Home screen. The other major benefits such as a New Phone app with local search capabilities, a brand new Google Photos gallery, an unified Hangouts app for SMS, MMS and Gtalk chats and colorful emojis for the Google keyboard. It also improves UI performance because of the presence of Project Svelte (Upgraded version on Project Butter from JellyBean) along with improved RAM management that makes Multi-Tasking better.
There is also a manual way to update the HTC One in which you can download the update directly to local storage, then use the “update from phone storage” in the stock recovery to flash your update. You can download the Update from the Link Below
