About a month ago from now, a Reddit user named “TweektheGeek” was woken up in the middle of the night when he realized that his Samsung Galaxy S4 was on fire (Overheated & Melting). He had put the phone on a usual overnight charge and then it was also discovered that the Battery plus the charger were Genuine Samsung Parts (Unlike the recent incident that had a Faulty Replacement Battery from a Third Party Manufacturer). As one would expect the owner contacted Samsung and they told him that he would be getting a replacement handset and a Box to send the Faulty Burnt Unit back to them, Sadly the Box arrived while the Replacement Phone never showed up. After a while Samsung also started ignoring him, making things worse than they already were for the poor guy who got played.
As the user turned to Reddit to bring his story to people, he was contacted by a HTC Product Manager who offered him a brand new HTC One M8 for FREE and the only thing he asked in return was that if Samsung decides to send him a Replacement Unit sometime in Future he shall donate it to charity or Sell it and deposit funds to someone in need. This sure does sound like HTC trying to make Samsung look bad but isn’t that really the case here ? They had a faulty unit that caused threat to users life and they didn’t even deliver on the replacement.
As for Samsung they lost a Customer and we are sure more will follow this example, so lets wait and hear what Samsung has to say on the shame this incident has brought them.
