Samsung has always been a little edgy about their software updates and a new leak that we got our hands on today seems to prove it quite well. The Galaxy S4 and Note 3 have been huge in terms of sale and hence a much wider software update approach is nothing but necessary to keep those loyal fans coming back for more. In the previous leaks about the Android 5.1.1 update the fate of these two past flagships were uncertain but it seems things are better now, especially for the Galaxy Note 3.
As you can see in the update roadmap below the Galaxy Note 3 has jumped the “On Hold” status and gone into testing and an update is going to come out in November. On the other hand, the Galaxy S4 has moved from “Not approved” to “Pending” which suggests that the electronic giant has given it some thought after all, sadly the time frame is still unknown. We think that Android 5.1.1 will be the last version these two devices will ever see as the long overdue update seems like a wrap up from Samsung.
The Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Alpha are now on the verge of getting the update with the roll out to commence in just a few days. At present only T-Mobile’s Galaxy S5 is at Android 5.1.1 while the Galaxy Alpha has been confirmed to get the update in the UK shortly.
