The Galaxy S5 is Samsung’s flagship for 2014 and hence it’s expected to be powered by the new Exynos mobile processor. The new SoC was expected to be called the Exynos 6, but it gets the name Exynos Infinity and will be announced at Samsung’s Unpacked event at MWC in Barcelona on February 24. Samsung Exynos’ Twitter account has posted a teaser image for the new SoC and has tagged a MWC debut along.
There is still no word if the Exynos Infinity has 64-bit capabilities but as Samsung announced that 2014 will be the year of 64 Bit Processors for the company back in September 2013 a 64-bit Samsung Quad-Core SoC is more than certain. There were also some leaks where the listing of a “GH7″ spotted in a Linux kernel patch with the ARMv8-A 64 Bit architecture, so this might just be it with the fancy name. The event is only 4 days away now so stay tuned for all the coverage, you can also see the live event on YouTube @ www.youtube.com/samsungmobile.
