It has already been confirmed that Android 5.0 Lollipop update will be provided to Nexus 5, Nexus 7, Nexus 10 and Nexus 4 but when is the actual roll out going to happen ? It just might start today. According to previous reports November 3rd was supposed to be the official release date for the Lollipop update to Nexus 7 2013 WI-FI and Nexus 10 models but this might not be a limited release after all. According to AndroidGeeks it is believed that all the Nexus devices eligible for the Android 5.0 Lollipop update will start receiving the update sometime today.
At this moment it isn’t confirmed though, but we do suggest to keep an eye on the notification center, as the update might pop up anytime. To receive the official OTA (over the air) update you must be running the latest stock version of Android 4.4.4 KitKat, or else you will have to flash the update manually. You can get all the factory images for the Nexus devices at the developers center here.
After trying Android 5.0 Lollipop on our Nexus 5 for more than a week we will suggest to get this update as soon as you can, it is indeed a new experience for stock android lovers and works smoother than anything we have seen yet. The application’s support is great too, though there were some occasional crashes in the final developer preview, but we hope they will be fixed in the official release.
