Android 4.4 KitKat (Now Android 4.4.3) is the latest version of Google’s most popular mobile operating system Android, it has been released for more than half a year now and hence we take a look at all the smartphones from major manufacturers like Samsung, Sony, HTC and LG that will be getting it in coming months, if they aren’t already rocking it.
1. Samsung
Samsung is the biggest player in the android league with numerous smartphones around the globe, additionally each of those smartphones have variants that are classified on the bases of location/regions/carriers. Though Samsung has managed to include most of its High-End smartphones from the galaxy line for the Android 4.4 KitKat update, there are a very few that fall in the Mid-Range segment, things for the low end smartphones is surely worse.

2. HTC
HTC hasn’t been doing well in business for almost more than two straight years now, but this doesn’t mean that it can be taken as an excuse to deliver the customers with latest android updates as they are released. On the positive side HTC has less number of Smartphones when compared to Samsung so the update figures still match up. Again most of the Mid-End Segment and Low-End Desire smartphones aren’t included here.

3. Sony
Sony hasn’t been the “Game Changer” in the android league but has still managed to produce some really worthy handsets since the release of Xperia Z, sadly it hasn’t been doing a great job when it comes to updating it’s Xperia line and customers have been left in complete disappointment. The list of Xperia devices to get Android 4.4 KitKat isn’t small by any means but some capable handsets are still missing (Eg. Xperia SP).

4. LG
No matter how innovative LG has been with their “Bezel Free” designs and OIS+ Camera Units, when it comes to Android updates they surely seem to lag behind almost every time. Last years beast of a smartphone, the LG G2 hasn’t been updated to KitKat quickly and most outside USA don’t even have it till date, the carrier variants like SPRINT’s have been more lucky than the others.

*Note : Some more devices from the F and L line are expected to be included, though LG has been very quite till yet.
We will be updating this post in accordance with any new information, there are still some devices that may get Android 4.4 after all and if it does happen you can count on us to report the same. Also it is a disappointment to see that manufacturers won’t be providing KitKat to Low and Mid-End devices, considering Google claims to have optimized it to run on 512MB of RAM.
