We all have been waiting for Samsung to break the silence on their Android 4.4 KitKat update for the top of line Galaxy devices the Galaxy S4 and the Note 3 but it seems that Samsung is still busy working on it. The french carries SFR has just made a statement on their Blog that says “Android 4.4 update should be available next year to SFR Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 buyers sometime between late January and early February” while this isn’t that big of a surprise after we saw the leaked document from Samsung India that indicated the same.
The only plus side to the users that may come out of this is that if SFR is planning to update their carries variant by Jan 2014 end then the owners of the International Variants, as well as the US Variants shall get update by that time if not earlier. There is still no indication or leaks about what Samsung’s Touchwiz will bring along with Android 4.4 but we are pretty sure it won’t be a disappointment for any Touchwiz lover out there. Meanwhile the Galaxy S4 Google Play edition is already running the latest KitKat version available – Android 4.4.2.
