Motorola might be very quick to push android updates but some models have stayed behind in this everlasting race between regions and mobile carriers. The original Moto G (XT1032) is now being updated to Android 4.4.4 KitKat after being stuck on 4.4.3 for a while, the other siblings however got the update months ago. The update is highlighted as “All US Retail Users” which suggests that it is designed for the US retail versions.
You can check your device for the OTA (over the air) notification, or if you are running stock recovery partitions from Motorola then you can flash the .Zip file directly. This Link will take you to the download page, thanks to XDA members who not only observed this update but were generous enough to create a .Zip for anyone who needs it. The update is very small at just 21 Megabytes and brings several minor changes like – Accuracy improvements to the power profile, several stability, framework and security fixes including update to OpenSSL.
Note : Flashing .Zip will result in Root Permission Loss
As you might already know that Motorola has committed to update both generations of Moto G to Android 5.0 Lollipop, the Android 4.4.4 takes it one step closer providing the final version of Android 4.4 KitKat.
