The android 4.4.2 KitKat update has finally started showing up for mid range Non-Flagship devices after the Xperia Z1, Z Ultra, Z, ZL and ZR. Sony’s mid range phablet Xperia T2 Ultra is now getting the update via OTA (over the air) globally. Sadly the delay did not make a jump to android 4.4.4 which is definitely a more stable software version, so seeing some “Bugs” won’t be anything to get shocked about. The update carries the software build number 19.1.A.0.473 for the Xperia T2 Ultra Single SIM and 19.1.C.0.116 for the Dual SIM ones. The update doesn’t come with any mean features but that doesn’t mean Sony hasn’t put in an effort to deliver all they could, the features remain identical to what we saw in the Flagship Xperia’s. We have compiled a list below, feel free to take a look at it.
Features & Changes in Android 4.4.2 update for Xperia T2 Ultra
- Android 4.4.2 Operating System
- Transparent Navigation Bar
- New Status Bar design
- Quick Settings modification
- New Boot Animation
- Compatibility with SmarBand & Lifelog App
- Faster Multi-Tasking
- Improved RAM Usage
- Ability to move App’s to SD Card
Sony also confirmed that the Android 4.4.2 KitKat updates for the Xperia E1 and Xperia M2 (along with the dual SIM variants), will be coming soon but there isn’t a word about the Xperia SP making it sometime sooner or later.
